Adam, did you ever get an answer to this one? I'm in the same boat and can't find an answer on the web...Evening all,
I'm looking to repaint the grey engine block on my 1996 Trophy 900 T300.
Does anybody know the paint code?
Lots of metalwork painted the same colour so a match would save me time repainting the unchipped bits!
Many thanks,
Adam.
Thanks, was looking for an off the shelf solution, rather than going to a professional paint shop...I’m guessing some engine parts especially if black are some universally used color code. You might be able to get a few cans and test match or take a part off and see if the color can be read/matched by a computer. I wanted to find the color to the frame on my triumph, 2005, was told pretty much that the dealer didn’t have a code number for it. Might be the same case with the engine. Perhaps some of the people here that have restored can point you to what they use to repaint.
I found a few of the off the shelf automotive paints are close enough for frame work. I suspect you might have the same luck with engine paints. Won’t hurt to by a can and see. Thanks, was looking for an off the shelf solution, rather than going to a professional paint shop...
Hi, I have a local car parts supplier that also mixes paint for me. They have been very good at colour matching any part I take to them from several different bikes (Including bicycles!) Maybe you have someone near to you that offers the same? I am in Widnes Cheshire (well someone has to live here) so if you are not far away and you have no luck locally it may be worth your while trying my supplier?Evening all,
