Engine Guard and Highway Pegs

Wanted to know if anybody has these on their bike. I hurt my tail bone when I was a kid and find that riding for a short period of time that starts to bother me. When i rest my angles on the pegs and it drops my back a little I dont have a problem. So i was thinking of the engine guard and highway pegs so my feet sit a bit more forward and lower plus safer so I can get on the rear brake quick if I have to.

Carl mate, I trained on a Buell but that aint saying much....didnt get out of second gear.....well I did in the test by mistake. I took off out of the figure eight and shifted up into 3rd before going in to the swerve...oooops. They didnt notice though...hahah. It's fine when I have my legs stretched and out I just dont like the fact that if I had to hit them breaks real quick I got to get up on the pegs and rear break. So I am thinking next best thing is the engine guard and highway pegs.
 
I looked to see what NewBonneville.com had along this line; but I didn't find anything. I didn't find anyting a Bellacorse.com either. Dazco knows a lot more about the Speedy than I do. He will be along soon.

I thought Bodine's set up was pretty nice, although I'm not into forward at all.

I think his stuff was Kuryakin.
 
For what you want, it may work.  Be advised that there is a reason Triumph calls them Dresser Bars instead of Crash Bars.  They don't come out far enough to protect anything.  I have the new rectangular type and they appear to be useless unless you want to mount pegs or something on them.  Good Luck.   :angry:

I can't get any of these 'highway pegs' for my bike, but I do have engine mounted crash bobbins that I hook my feet over sometimes on long runs.
You're right about a sudden breaking issue though - it does feel unsafe, but man when the wind runs up the back of my legs in this kinda heat it feels amazing.

Have you thought about changing the handlebars, this will also have an effect on how your weight is angled into the seat?
If you do change bars you don't have to stick to Triumph OEM parts, just make sure that all you control cables will be long enough, if not you might have to purchase after market brake lines. To me it sounds like you need slightly higher but with a more aggro bend towards the seat.

Ya got the same colour bike as mine mate.....looks good. It's nice seeing somebody on one....hahahaha

I kind of like the guard.....When I do get one i will mount pegs on it for sure. I'm finding id I put my heels on the pegs which brings my feey forward and drops my back a bit it feels better on longer runs.
