Hi
Im new to the forum and this is my first posting, i have a 2010 T100 and the engine casings are scratched and scuffed quite badly, please take a look at the photo attached. Can someone please advise how to best repair the damage, im guessing the casings are chromed and not polished as there is no corrosion showing on the casings.
If the casings are polished then no problem to polish the scratching out but if chromed then its probably going to be a big problem to repair myself.

Looks like the same damage I've seen on chromed faucets when a pipe wrench was taken to it. The sort of copper layer under the finish between the base metal. I'd say it's chromed.

It is chrome. You might find it easier (but not cheaper) to replace the cover. It would have to come off anyway for chroming. Some shops will not attempt a re-chrome because occasionally the oil seeps into the metal making it impossible.

Buy new or used. I've been wondering about getting sliders to protect the case on mine. Road rash like that just sends chills down my back. LoL. This was a used bike? If it's new to you, start looking for other signs. Small things tell you what the bike has been through. Post some pics, love to see the rest of the bike.
