I'm getting a little fed up with the grab/release grab/release judder action from the front brake on my T100. The solution seems to be to replace the disc with a genuine Triumph part, but as the bike is long since out of warranty I have to pay for any repairs or mods myself.
I've been doing some research and the EBC pro-lite kit of disc and brake pads seems to be a worthwhile upgrade and a simple bolt-on for about the same cost as a new Triumph disc - give or take.
Is anyone using one of these kits?
Any thoughts and/or experiences are appreciated.

BTW, I saw the caliper mod gumpt1oo did to his bike and that was impressive TUP
 
I use EBC pads; but I have the stock disc.

For the price of the OEM discs you will be able to get some seriously good after market discs.

Also note that as far as I know, Triumph don't actually make the discs. So you're looking at Japanese anyway.

My Speed Triples rear brake disc is off of a Honda Fireblade, and then I bought the 'wave rotor' as it was nearly half the price of the OEM.

So yeah, EBC, Galfer, Brembo, and you can't go wrong. Material type is another choice, Stainless, Carbon mix or iron.
Iron is very good, although it does rust should a rain drop pass in the next town over. :>

rocky, if the disc isn't damaged, have you tried EBC pads or have you always run stock pads? because if the latter, try EBC and i bet the problem goes away.

The pads are from the factory and the bike has ony 12,000 km's on it when it started this jerky juddery kind of braking action which is annoying at slow speeds.
Braking hard I don't notice it until I'm down to a slow speed and then at a crawl.
I haven't checked the disc for run-out. There is no reason for it to be warped as I don't abuse the bike.
New pads are a cheaper option so may take your advice.

I've now got the same problem on the Speed Triples front brakes. Very noticable at slow speeds.

I've checked the discs for runout and it's not bad at all.

However the discs are at the end of their life. Actually they are below the min spec.

What does happen though, is that hard spots appear, these are caused by the disc heating up unevenly, these do feel similar to warped discs.

The only cure you can try is to get the disc very very hot to 'even it out' - so to speak.
Seeing as they are so thin to start out with, there is no material to skim them clean.

Find a nice long pass / hill and drag the brakes all the way down. You don't want to do any sudden braking, as this is what causes the problems in the first place.

Get 'em stinking hot then let them cool off to ambient temps.

It's free, so it's worth a shot.

I've been told just what you said about hard spots caused by uneven heat cycles that give the feeling of a warped disc.
My disc has barely any wear at all.
I tried braking hard a few times, but didn't really heat up the disc as you suggest. I'll give it a go too.
If this doesn't work, and new EBC pads don't change anything, I'll probably go ahead and fit the EBC brake disc kit over the winter.

dunno about the bonnies, but warped front discs were such a common problem on the early speedy's that they were replaced under warranty no questions asked.

Sorry for coming in late on this, but I recently replaced the stock pads on my Bonneville with EBC HH pads. They made a world of difference! Very progressive feel. and not grabby a slow speeds.
 
later bonnies were said to have sintered pads, i just added the ebc gold colored alum centered rotor for the efi mag wheel bikes as fitment differs from earlier models
