Mounted the Shinkos a few weeks ago, great kit, but didn't have the ability to balance them, front had a slight but noticeable vibration at highway speed. I heard of these......

Don't know if others have tried them but I figured I would test them out. $12.99 for the beads and applicator (bottle and plastic tube) took a sum total of 10 min. And the test ride went very well!

Removed the slight wobble all together and gave an overall better "feel" to the front end. It even seemed to calm some of the vibration at low speeds from the more aggressive off road tread of these tires. Well worth the price of admission IMHO.

I've only read one comment of these that wasn't good, all others are nothing but glowing appraise for the greatest invention since sliced bread. One of these days I will gave to give them a try.

BTW, the bad reviewer has never given a good report about anything that he has commented on. Heck he probably would give sliced bread a bad review.

Well I am "reasonably skeptical" ----- A.K.A. negative some would say, and I think they (much like the Shinko tires) are well worth the $. Are they as good as sliced bread, well, no I can't eat 'em. Are they as good as lead weight......possibly, seem to achieve the same balance, but cost wise.......way cheaper than going to a shop to have them balanced or buying a small balancing system and weights. Last I checked the balancers ran 60-100.00. Beads, 12.99. Seems a winner to me. Yes aside from being skeptical, I am cheap to. :y2:
Almost Never pay retail, always find "deals" learned that from my Grandpa many years ago and has served me well for 42 years.

Plus I must say tire tech has come soooooo far in recent years most times if you line the little mark up with the valve stem, you really don't NEED to balance a tire. But in the case of my Shinko tire it made the front feel way to light for my liking and I needed to try something, amazingly 1 OUNCE of ceramic tiny little beads made a big improvement.

I do recommend them for sure. They are now under my personal list of "good kit" TUP

Exactly what is the process of balancing a tire using them?

Step-by-Step if you don't mind. I may have found a solution for getting my new tire-wheel balanced without the hassle!

I bought some for Angie, but after an hour of struggling to get them through the valve I gave up.
I passed them on to Big 'n Daft and he reckoned they worked okay.

Avion, did you get the little bottle and the tube?

I admit it took a little "fiddling" to get the "pour" speed right, you can't just dump them in.....tried that and it didn't work.

Remove valve stem
Attach the tube
pour beads into bottle
cut the tip of the bottle to increase the hole size that exists (its to small)
then slowly, while rotating and tapping the bottle pour a few at a time, it took me maybe 15 min total, 5 to get the "system" down and 10 to fill.
I have the 90 degree valve stems so after the bottle was empty I shot a couple quick blasts of air to clear the bend of any beads
replaced valve stem
air it up
go for a ride.
:y2:

Yeah I got the filler thing with them too.

I even tried holding a vibrating engraver against the valve housing to aid it but sod all helped. Got fed up and tossed it in a corner.

As stated it took some "fiddling" but I found by pouring (very slowly) and rotating the bottle clockwise as I did, they poured right in.

Ride on by buy me a beer I'll dump 'em in for you BBEER

I've only seen them in bike shops here. Our local bike tv program did a review on them - that's how I found out about dyna beads.

well this local tv show called "Two Wheels" thinks that everything they review is pure and utter gold. So yeah, you can guess how great there are. lol

Bunch of plonkers and never_was'ers.

Keystiger:
do you also have 90 degree valve stems on your bike?

they got the same trouble here with another s3.

Yes I have the 90 degree valve stems. I didn't really have that many issues with it, just a matter of finding the right pour speed and having the valve stem in the 6:00 position.
