G'day Folks, when recently adjusting the drivechain on my 2001 Thunderbird 900 Triple I noticed that the nylon chain slider on the swing arm is looking very worn.
So I would like to replace or repair the slider unit. I can see that one of the holding screws is hidden behind the frame rail. What a stupid design detail !!
Upon checking the workshop manual it prescribes dismantling the whole swing arm !!
Has anybody come up with an alternative fix ?
I am thinking about attaching a piece of nylon wearplate suitably shaped , what glue will work ?
Your thoughts please ?
Hooroo, Mike

Well as there are no grease nipples on the swinging arm, you need to dismantle to grease the needle roller bearings, so a good time to change the rubbing strip if very worn. At least the rubbing strip is still available! 100067327-0-2
