Wow.....you CERTAINLY remembered the camera! Great pics and thanks so much for taking us along.

"gone a bit MAD again"????? You never left in the first place:y2:

Sorry to hear about the relocation blues, hope you get sorted and in the new place soon.

Glad that it brought back nice memories for you. Silly question this Rocky but do you know why the Maple Leaf was at half mast, did someone of importance pass away in Canada ?
No, there hasn't been the passing of any person of note.
Possibly it was in respect of smebody in the UK or possibly due to the killing of some Canadians in that shopping center hostage incident in Africa.

Thanks for sharing the photos, I saw areas of London that were either from a different angle and/or of areas I've never seen photos of, makes me want to visit some day. Looks like y'all had a great day for a trip. TUP

I think you might have noticed that there seemed to be a woman following you around town. She must have beem from Scotland Yard, thinking you looked to be a bit on the shady side. Well either that or you was stalking her. :y2:

Wow you guys sure took in a lot in the one day, great photos

We deliberately didn't do the underground as we wanted to see more of the city from up top rather than use the underground. To be honest everything is within walking distance in London, and if your able to do it, I think you feel more part of it, rather than use the buses and underground. Mind you an all day pass for the London underground and the buses at £7.50 isn't going to brake the bank so to speak

I was impressed with London, having been born there and moving away some 44 years ago, a hell of a lot has changed, some good some bad, but the route that we did took in all the tourist bits and bobs, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg to do it as well. You can have an expensive meal out, or just bundle into the many burger chains that we've imported. Then there's always that firm favorite " Fish and Chips".
The one cheeky thing is that they want to charge you 50p to take a leak, so you just go to the nearest pub hand have one for free.
I haven't introduced Pat Nav have I, well I normally get lost no matter where I go so I take the misses along as plan B, I just call her Pat Nav.
A good day was had by all, and it's great to hear so many different accents as well. I was talking to a lady from Hawaii, you don't get to do that every day.
So start saving your penny's and come on over, just hope that the weather will play ball for you

As I mentioned, we spent a week in London and did a lot of walking too. We covered a lot of ground and saw most of the "touristy" things. I didn't get to the Ace Cafe CRY Some say it's not worth the bother, but it's such an icon I wanted to see it just to say I had been there. But time was against us so I had to pass it up.
We did take the underground a few times (and I did mind the gap) just to speed things up getting to an area to explore.
But a week isn't nearly enough to see all that great city has to offer.
We decided to save something for next time, but my wife's health went downhill after that so I doubt there will ever be a return trip.
Lots of great memories though. Thanks again for the walk down memory lane TUP

The Ace Cafe is in my opinion most defiantly worth the bother, especially if you could tie up with the various themed days that Mark Wilsmore has. The atmosphere is unbelievable, as is the food, you really get a fair whack on your plate. I've been to the Ace a few times and can honestly say hand on heart that it's been brilliant. But we're all different
Sorry to read about your wife's health I hope one day it will improve so you could maybe pay London and other places a visit
