Here is a statement from the Tampa Bay Lightning on the condition of former Tampa Bay goaltender Pat Jablonski. Sounds like he should make a full recovery.
“Former Lightning goalie Pat Jablonski suffered two broken vertebrae in a body surfing accident off Anna Maria Island this past Sunday. Jablonski was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital on Monday evening and underwent surgery on Tuesday to relieve pressure on a pinched spinal cord. The post-surgical prognosis is very good and Jablonski hopes to return home later this week. In fact, he has already been walking this morning.
The Jablonski family wishes to thank Lightning fans and friends for their concern and caring during this difficult time.
“I want to thank everyone for their well wishes, thoughts and prayers during what has been perhaps the scariest time of my life,†Jablonski said “Thanks to a great medical team and surgical staff at Tampa General Hospital, I have had wonderful treatment and care and I look forward to going home and playing with my children very soon.â€
