I had an Eagle. It had a two speed tranny and a centrifugal clutch. It looked more like motorcycle than than a scooter. It wasn't much; but it was two wheels. :ya2: The photo below is not mine. Mine was black.

I have met Charlie Broaderick. He has a fine collection. He enters some in various local vintage shows.

Dave, you are a mere child. You would not have seen any of them on the road. :y114:

I remember seeing magazine adverts for them, but I don't think there were ever any around here. But back in those days were were more or less the tail end of the country and often didn't get things here that they got in larger centers.
Population usually dictates the market and we're still quite small, but these days there isn't much we don't have now.
35-40 years ago it was a big deal to go to the US or central Canada because of the variety of goods available. That's much less so these days and shopping isn't the adventure it used to be.
Now, with online shopping, nothing is out of reach.

There is one hanging from the ceiling at the Quaker Steak and Lube in Cranberry Twp, PA. Evidently, the US military used them at some point also because this one is painted drab green with a white US Army star on it and has a cammo parachute attached to it.

I also recall a now defunct amusement park near Pittsburgh where you could rent them (similar to the red one pictured) to ride around the grounds.

I saw that place on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, looks like a cool place.
I have always though the Cusmans were cool.

The US military did use them for couriers on various bases. AJ, down here, supervisors in the citrus processing plants used them to get from place to place in the complex. A couple of school buddies rode them to school in junior high school.
