Don, you are right; the tax laws do complicate things. In Florida, if buy something online from a Florida company, I pay 6% sales tax on the purchase. If I buy it from a company in another state, I do not pay sales tax.

Precisely Carl.

The Texas Attorney General worked out a deal with Amazon (who has a warehouse and distribution center in the DFW Metroplex) to start charging sales tax to Texas residents.
Amazon's corporate office is in Seattle, WA and they have no retail sales facilities here but they caved to demands and now I pay 8.25% on all Amazon orders.

I understand the need to support the state provided services (funded by our tax dollars) but I cannot imagine the monster needed to regulate tax revenue on all internet sales nationwide........

No sales taxes on online purchases at all in Pennsylvania.

Plus we never pay any sales taxes on any "necessities" like food, soap, shoes or clothing.

That would include motorcycle boots, jackets, and helmets! :)

Okay, I went to http://shop.triumphmotorcycles.com/. It is open for business but the offerings don't seem to be as extensive as the clothing line at triumphmotorcycles.com. Also the first thing it asks you to do is to pick a state then "your" dealership. I live in Maine and it appears that Maine is no longer a part of the Union as it is not a choice.

Any ideas???

I thought the same thing about how meager the selection was on there as compared to the Triumph website.

Maine seceded from the Union a few years ago....you didn't hear about that? OK...just wishful thinking I guess. Are there no dealerships in Maine?

Here is the scoop straight from Triumph North America in Atlanta. I called them. The dealerships choose to opt in to the online store. If a dealership has not opted in, they will not be listed. I will talk to the Orlando and Daytona Beach dealerships and ask them why they have not opted in.
