I frequently mention riding on coastal roads, but I/we are usually so into the road that there is often no time for pictures.
Not so today.
I have to rotate the fleet so the gas doesn't get stale :y153: :y43: ROTFL so I rolled out Brand X and headed for one of my favourite coastal routes.
It's a Saturday morning so traffic was very light and the air cool when I left at 8:30.
It's an unusual day as smoke from the forest fires in British Columbia, thousands of kilometres away, is passing over high in the atmosphere. I just heard that it extends to Ireland. We never have smog or haze, but you could tell the sun was dimmed by the smokey haze.
As I rode along I made a few stops to show you that the ocean is often right along the roads.

The pretty lady kayaker in the distance paddled by and gave me a wave and a nice smile. She was doing her thing in the early morning air and I was doing mine.

These old coastal roads date back to the days of the settlers and eventually became gravel roads and then pavement. They wind in, out and around the coves and shoreline, and are fantastic on a bike.
