Although hurricane season began June 1st, it has been quiet in the tropics up til now. Our first tropical storm of the season hit the Florida panhandle last night. It is no big deal; her highest winds are about 40 mph ( 64 kilometer/hour). We have daily thunderstorms worse than that. She will probably cause some local flooding and that is about it.

There are two more tropical storms tracking our way. We may feel the effects of one of them where we live.

We're keeping an eye on Bill, hour by hour, but he's not expected to hit before Monday.
I had my maple trees trimmed and thinned out just last week in anticipation of any high winds that might blow them over.
If Bill hits us we can only hope that the cold North Atlantic Ocean will knock the stuffing out of him and only be a rain and wind storm.
But that's what "they" said about Hurricane Juan and that one kicked the crap out of us. I was more than lucky that time and my cottage properties suffered no damage whatsoever. Dozens of very tall pines there sitting like targets.
Here in the city I lost two maple trees, but they fell inside my back yard and didn't hit anything. Not even a picket was knocked off the fence :oh:
Let's hope my luck holds.

I have been praying it wipes DC off the face of the earth.

wasn't it hurricane Ike last year?
If I remember correctly, he was responsible for halting the Moto GP at Indy.

PS - when did they start using male names?

When political correctness swept the globe. They alternate female name, male name, etc

Damn, with wishes like this one I guess I had best move. That's too close to home for me, although I couldn't agree more. :y115: :y115:

Thanks man! 80% of my business is in DC, from my small family owned and operated business.. Which I work my ass off every day.. Think before opening your trap when you have anger issues with the powers to be and not the worker bees.. The people you want wiped out are a very small few...
