Those "Christmas crackers" are always something we look forward to at Christmas.
This year I took the family to the Hotel Westin for Christmas dinner and we took along our "crackers" and popped them at the dinner table.
At first I wondered if it was a good idea considering the upscale location, but a few other families were doing the same thing and everyone had a great time.
The hotel puts on a super buffet-style dinner and it was fantastic as always. We've been there a few times before.
This year they had 34 deserts, but I could only manage five

Yes as Rocky said they Christmas crackers and when pulled make a bang much like the top cap gun. Inside you find a small gift with a small paper comprising of the normal Did you know .... and then a joke as well. Great fun to do over the Christmas table.

As far as the trifle goes I always make that each year
