For the past ten years our vintage bike club has been holding their Christmas party at the new home of a club member.
This year he will be away on business just before Christmas so we held the party a bit early this year on 1 December.
On the drive out I noticed many homes and properties already lit up for Christmas so I guess it wasn't all that early after all.

Upwards of 60 members attended the party which is the social event of the year with a pot-luck supper; door prizes; a whiskey bottle raffle and the awarding of annual awards which are only held for one year, but an engraved plate is affixed and remains forever.
For the safety of all this is a non-alcohol event
The awards consist of;
Hard Luck - the one nobody wants, but is given to anyone who had trouble out on the road on a club ride.
President's choice - given to a member the president considers having worked on behalf of the club
Most Avid Rider - given to the club member who attended the most club rides and events.
Most Valuable Member - voted on by the club members who feel that member has overall done much or the most to contribute to the good running of the club.

A few pictures.

Some door prizes.

Thanks, and yes, it's always a great event with lots of fun and often catching up with people we don't see that often.
The turkey, ham and all the fancy deserts brought in by the members for the pot luck supper were excellent and nobody went home hungry.
When the host built his new home it was with all his collections in mind and designed his basement area for them. It's a treat going there because there is always something new to see.

Thanks Guys TUP
The Ariel is a 1949 model and was in a sorry state in boxes when he bought it. Many parts were missing or useless. The exhaust system being one.
Over the course of a year it was brought back to factory specs, both in operation and looks.
It runs beautifully and they are very rare in this area.

You guys really have a great club and each year it strikes me just cool it really is when you post up your yearly Christmas party thread. I was wondering why it seemed a bit early this year but you right we already into December with Christmas just being a few weeks away once again.
