Our annual club Christmas party was a bit early this year because the usual host will be away on business over the next two weeks so we had to squeeze it in on 2 December.
It was a roaring success as always, and as usual I was responsible for buying for the door prize table. It's not a chore at all and I enjoy shopping for bargains.
This was the prize table and everyone gets to take something home. Numbered tickets are chosen at random and the ticket holder has a choice of anything on the table
To add a bit of mystery and spice to the event we had a mystery prize and raffled off a donated bottle of Whiskey.
The mystery prize was a full set of sockets and wrenches donated by my son-in-law's employer. I was very pleased that the young man who took a chance and got the wrench set was about to start a mechanics course and didn't have any tools of his own.
We always love going to this particular residence to see the large collection of bikes, guitars and associated bike "stuff." You gotta love a guy who likes bikes and guitars!
We also hand out annual club awards for Most Avid Vintage Bike Rider; Hard Luck for anyone who didn't make it all the way home due to a breakdown on a club run; President's Trophy to anyone who has gone the extra mile to support the club and finally Most Valuable Member.
Knock on wood, I have only been awarded the Hard Luck award once in 21 years
I have been awarded all the other ones several times over the years.
Here I am congratulating the club president for his dedication and work on behalf of the club, and was voted Most Valuable Member.
Do we know how to have fun or what!!
