I fussed with my silly '02 Bonnie, scratching my head till I got a new bald spot; it WOULD NOT start on both cylinders when cold, and refused to idle on both cylinders. VERY frustrating.

Cleaned the carbs TWICE, swapped spark plugs, cleaned the tiny "T" fitting fuel filter, it just REFUSED to obey. Bought a NEW set of carbs, SAME PROBLEM!!!

When all else failed, I bought a new ignition coil.

VROOM!

It runs like new, only better because of the pipes and airbox mods.

FINALLY!!!!

They say 90% of all carb problems are electrical (and vice-versa)

You are not a seasoned Triumph owner until you have experienced this. My saying is: " 90% or the carburetor problems with a Triumph is it's ignition coils". I own 3 of them and I have been through this with two. I figure it is just a matter of time before the third bike coils fail :) ...Oh well...J.D.
