Canada flag day

It took a long time, but we finally got our own country flag on this day in 1965 - the same year my beautiful daughter was born.
Many didn't like the simplistic design calling it the drawing of a child and not representative of a country with the world status of a country like Canada.
But I think that was its strength. It was simple; certainly distinctive; easily recognized and not to be confused with any other country.
The criticism soon faded and everyone was thankful for a flag - simplistic or not.
I liked it from day one.

I liked the Oz flag too so brought one and a boomerang home with me.
I haven't decided on which photo to put in the frame yet.

Happy Canada day I have always like the look of eh flag easy to recognize amongst hundreds of others

Canada Flag Day, hope it's a good day for our northern neighbors.

I never knew the information on what was said about the flag back when it was adopted. For everything they said against it, it is what makes the flag so distinctive, a true one of a kind.

I'm a bit late in theis thread; but I really like the Canadian flag; it is very distinctive.
