The only reason the San Fransicko Comical would run this story is to show there are many wounded soldiers. They would never run a story about combat effectiveness.

That is fantastic, the brave soldiers deserve the best! :y115:
I wish I could say the same happens here, but unfortunately it doesn't. Our wounded are often placed on general wards in NHS hospitals with horrific injuries not to mention the pshycological trauma. Amputees have had to use public swimming pools for rehab and physio as there are few military facilities available. About 2yrs ago a charity was set up www.helpforheroes.org.uk to raise money to provide facilites for the servicemen and women. Up to now it has raise over 8 million pounds and is starting to build a rehab centre at Headley Court. I have been supporting this charity and have raised just over £1000 this year by running 2 marathons. Whether you agree with the war or not, I'm sure you will agree that all our wounded deserve the best possible care and facilites.

That pisses me off, the gov send them, and you have to raise money to build a rehab centre.
Do the job.
Don't do the job.
But don't do half a job.

Hear! Hear! Kevin, I could not agree with you more.

Gromit, the SFC is very leftist, anti-military, and extremely biased in their editorializing that they call reporting. They could be the model George Orwell used for 1984. And that is their good qualities.

San Fransicko is the same city that refused to allow the Marines to film a commercial there, won't allow recruiters into their high schools, won't allow ROTC in their schools, refused a Navy ship to be docked there, and calls themselves a "sanctuary city" for illegal aliens (which resulted in allowing an illegal alien who was a murderer to be released to murder a whole family).

What's behind the "San Fransicko"? I chuckle everytime you post that and my imaginations goes off on a tangent, but let's hear it from the source? Pleeeeze!

I don't know where I first heard it but I have be calling it that for years. San Fran is the most anti-American city in the USA. They want to kick out all military yet have gay parades where sex takes place in the streets. The give out free needles to drug addicts, you can not walk down the street without be accosted by bums. They (city government) allow extremist groups to invade churches to interfere with services with repercussion. I could go on and on but I'll end by saying San Fransicko is what we fear America will become.

Well that certainly puts SF into a new light! Do they not want to be a part of the US? Why don't they stage a coup and declare SF an independent "country" - then they can exclude all military, navy etc, open their borders and allow illegals to flood their designated area. Maybe they would change their minds if the big one finally hits and the military is called to assist - bet the soldiers wouldn't be kicked out then!

(oops - really cynical and grumpy this morning - damn government departments ruined my day and taxes are due end of this month )

That's just the 'tip of the iceberg' Kevin. This country is getting so 'PC' some council's are prohibiting people from flying the 'Cross of St George' flag as it may upset immigrants!
Returning troops very rarely get any kind of homecoming parade, and the verbal abuse that they are getting on the street has led one Commaning Officer of an Airforce base near Peterborough, to ban the airmen and women from wearing uniform in the town to prevent any confrontation! It's an absolute disgrace!

WHAT???? WHOSE COUNTRY IS IT??

THIS IS MORE THAN A DISGRACE! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THE UK? I think it's time for a revolt. What would you call Bastille Day in the UK! Off with their heads??

Who abuses the returning troops, migrants or Englishmen?
I'm no fan of the Iraq situation, but the troops are not responsible.
What do I call the emotoin, I'm angry / sad / outraged. Fly your flag, start a movement!
[/quote]
The abuse comes from anyone who does not agree with the war, English and immigrant.
Check out this article.

As for the flag, when I heard about the PC brigade trying to ban it I bought a flag pole and put it up in my garden where I fly the flag with pride 24/7.
As for the emoticon , all three plus a few more choice words!
  :y20:

SF to be sued by family of slain father, 2 sons

Associated Press - August 22, 2008 10:24 PM ET

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A claim has been filed against the city of San Francisco by the family of a slain father and his two sons.

The family says the city is partially responsible for the fatal shooting of 48-year-old Tony Bologna and his two sons -- 20-year-old Michael and 16-year-old Matthew -- because of its "extreme" immigration sanctuary policy.

Police have arrested 21-year-old Edwin Ramos, a native of El Salvador, who they say mistook the Bolognas for rival gang members. Ramos has been charged with three counts of murder and is awaiting trial. He has pleaded not guilty.

The claim states that the city knew Ramos was a member of Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, with a violent past, but failed to report him as required by federal law to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

The city attorney's office has not yet reviewed the claim, and would not comment.

The city has 45 days to respond to the wrongful death claim, which is a precursor to a lawsuit.

Thanks for sharing this. It's great to know that our troops are taken care of. I am so sorry about SF. I am hate to say I was born there. I remember when it was a great city. Ladies would not think of going down town without dressing up and even bums wore a tie. It's sad the way it has turned out.

Dave

Kevin, that is what happened during Viet Nam in the US. Many of us Viet Nam and Viet Nam era vets have taken the motto, "Never Again!" That is one of the reasons for the growth and popularity of the Patriot Guard Riders. The general public definitely supports the troops this time around.
