In anticipation of the release of an Indian Chief model fitted with the new Thunder Stroke III engine, Indian Motorcycles built a "Munro Special" fitted with the Thunder Stroke III engine and ran it on a California dry lake last May.

very cool but I bet it still didn't go as good as burt's original , he was just a one off guy !

I think this was built mainly for publicity purposes to promote the Thunder Stroke III engine, and not to be run hard or for any records.
Burt can rest easy in his grave, but if he was around today, I'll bet he would have loved to get his hands on that new engine!!

Trouble is today Burt would have taken off the fuel injection and put on carbs!!
