Kind of cool.
The potential heavy rain failure needs to be addressed. I agree with the reviewer, it needs to be fully waterproof.

I almost selected TX Hill Country when I escaped CA but I do not own rain boots are insect repellent...LOL
I like it; I got mine through the crowd-funding campaign. So far, I haven't tried it in the rain. Extra mounts are available to move it around to different helmets.
It does have potential. So how susceptible is it to moisture intrusion?
Can't answer because I haven't ridden in the rain with it; never ride in more than a drizzle.

I like mine. It seems as if drivers stay further back while in motion, and stop sooner and stay back longer at traffic lights. No way to prove it, and could be a "placebo" effect, but this is my perception anyway. Combined with a strobe/flasher brake light, I like to think that I am more visible to the drivers behind me. I have not ridden in the rain, so have no observations about susceptibility to water.
I think the Brake Free is sufficiently water-proof if no effort is made to distort the curve built-in to the Brake Free, by applying it to a helmet with a flatter, or even a sharper, curve than is built in to the Brake Free.
