We also have the Boxing Day tradition and everything was closed so it was a stay-at-home day.
Santa brought me a boxed set of TV westerns from the 50's and 60's so I hunkered down and watched a few; Cisco Kid, Annie Oakley, Wyatt Earp, Lone Ranger. Annie Oakley (oddly enough) had commercials for Canada Dry Ginger Ale soft drink with Annie (Gail Davis, now deceased) doing to promo. All the others (so far) are commercial free and are 25 minutes or less long.

Since the weather was so bad this morning I slipped in a few more CD's and watched the Cisco Kid.
The show is in colour and for four episodes in a row all the actors were the same and wore the exact same clothing, but playing different characters of course. I might not have noticed the clothing if the shows were in B & W.
I guess the budget was tight that week :ya2:
This boxed set (a wooden box, BTW) I'm talking about holds 600 TV episodes :oh:
If I watched them for 24 hours a day it would take 12 days to watch all of them :y114:
If it's a long cold winter at least I have my entertainment :ya2:

It's interesting to see very young actors in supporting and character roles who eventually became stars themselves.
For example, I just saw a very young Robert Vaughan (Napoleon Solo - Man From Uncle, Magnificent Seven, and countless other movie and TV roles) as a deranged strangler in an episode of Frontier Doctor starring cowboy hero, Rex Allen.
Allan Hale (skipper on Gilligan's Island) is another example playing a very young (and thinner :ya2:) outlaw.
It's all a blast from the past, and since most of those shows were never imported into Canada, they're all new to me - albeit a bit dated and somewhat corny now :ya2:
But I'm having fun

The same is true for old Twilight Zone shows.....actors early in their careers and very young doing many of them.

One of my favorites is Captain Kirk from Star Trek in a Twilight Zone episode about the monster out on the airplane wing which only he can see.
