Hi all. We're new to this forum and have recently started looking into the great Bonneville. We have seen the "Bonnie" Development of the Triumph Bonneville book which looks to be good but before buying we wondered if other people would recommend it or if there are any that they think are better. We need a book that has full specifications of the models for each year including paint colours. Any advice would be much appreciated.

That's the copy I have and it's pretty concise as it gives year by year specs including paint colours as the biked is developed.
I recommend this publication, but others may recommend something else.

Welcome to TT.
Of course we are going to recommend the Bonneville!
This IS a Triumph Forum after all.
Kidding aside, I have not heard too much to turn anyone off of the Bonnie.
Great all around solid bike.
Just comes down to what you want and like.

Hi, thanks for your reply and welcome, but you misread what I had asked. The Bonnie is of course a great bike but I was asking about a book called Bonnie - Develoment of the Triumph Bonneville not the bike. Thank you anyway for replying.

Thanks for your recommendation Rocky, much appreciated.

No Problem. We usually don't get anyone on here looking for info on a book about Bonnevilles, just the bikes themselves.
Good luck in finding all you seek.

Hey new hear to the site. Can you tell me what the color is for my 78 bonnie? I've seen conflicting info. Some called it cherokee red, some cherry red & saw yet another name. Haven't been able to pinpoint the actual factory color name. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I agree there is a lot of conflicting information about colours, but I don't think the two reds you mention are correct.
According to the "Bonnie" book, the US models had a black gas tank with Candy Apple red scallops and chromed fenders.
