The “Beast” BMW R1200GSA, built for Hixpania: The Conquest of Hard Enduro…
Hard Enduro is one of the world’s toughest off-road motorcycling formats, designed to push the world’s top riders to their very limits through extreme terrain, obstacles, and weather. No two races are the same — some are rallies, some straight fights to the end — and riders must be skilled in techniques that span trials riding, motocross, endurocross, and more. Even the world’s most elite hard enduro riders are sure to go down multiple times during a race, often having to push their bike or ask fans for help.
Recently, the first Spanish hard enduro race was established: Hixpania, The Conquest of Hard Enduro — a hard enduro event with a medieval flair. When rider Mario Ausin needed a bike to compete in the race, he approached Jorge Gonzalez of Hell’s Kitchen Garage — based in Burgos, Spain. Mario wanted a bike to compete in the “Spanish Armada” class of the Hixpania — a class for twin-cylinder, 700cc+ machines.
The result is this 2007 BMW R1200GS scrambler, aptly dubbed the “The Beast” BMW R1200HXP. This behemoth, based on the popular BMW R1200GS Adventure (or R1200GSA), is one serious warhorse of a hard enduro machine. Below, we get the full story on the machine!

• Please tell us a bit about yourself, your history with motorcycles, and your workshop.
My attraction for things with motors has been with me since I was little. At the beginning were the cars and then the bikes. That hobby, added to my abilities to build things, led to the creation of Hell’s Kitchen Garage. A talent that I have always had has been painting, which is reflected in all my works. That’s why I started doing painting works for others (which I still do for a few builders), and from there I went on to build and modify American bikes and cars.
I mention that I do 99% of the work, from the design, construction, painting … the only thing I have to do outside is the upholstery.
• What’s the make, model, and year of the bike?

• Why was this bike built?
it is a project for a client focused on an event in which he would participate with the motorcycle: El Hixpania.
• What was the design concept and what influenced the build?
The concept of the design was a low or Dakar type motorcycle and the main influence was the purpose of the motorcycle: to carry out the race Hixpania 2017.
• What custom work was done to the bike?
Complete modification. New suspension with Öhlins shock absorbers, weight reduction with a new hand-built subframe, new sheet metal fuel tank covers, front fenders with double headlight and oil radiator, Akrapovic exhaust, exhaust manifolds made of titanium, striking paint with effects of patina and rust…and other details.
• How would you classify this bike?
“A kind of giant scrambler.”
