THotel prices start going up in October and leaves begin to fall, making roads potentially slippery, so.......
The First Annual Blue Ridge British Bike Rally (BRBBR) will be Friday & Saturday 9/23 & 24 2016.
Several nice rides of 200+- miles are planned out. Roads are good to excellent. Depending on how many show up, we may split into groups of similar riding styles; cruisers, dual sports & sport bikes. (We'll send out the sport bikes first to occupy all the police, and then head out. ;-)
Discounted rates are available at the three local places to stay from Thursday through Saturday nights 9/22/16 through 9/24/16. There are several B&B's in the area Link
First (and most expensive) is the Peaks of Otter Lodge, where BRBBR will be based. It is at MM86 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Rooms are discounted to $116.10 for Thursday night and $134.10 Friday & Saturday nights plus 10.3% tax. Rate is for one king or two double beds, so you can share a room and split the cost. Thirty rooms will be blocked, but for this rate, you'll need to book no later than 30 days prior (8/25/16). If you reserve and cannot make the trip, cancellation policy is 72 hours prior, or forfeiture of (1st night) deposit will result. Any other cancellation has a $15 fee. There is a restaurant and cafe on premises. Nearby campsites, picnicking and hiking. Friday night buffet is $20, daily morning breakfast buffets are $14, or order off the menu. It's a beautiful setting with recently renovated rooms.

Second is Super8, on U.S. Rte. 460 just west of Bedford VA, It's 14 miles from the Peaks. Light breakfast included. Rate TBA.
Third is Days Inn across the road from Super 8. One king bed or 2 queen beds are $55.95 plus tax (1 or 2 people). Be sure to mention BRBBR for this rate. (I can't vouch for the rooms but at $56, don't expect luxury.) Breakfast included.
Bedford is about 15 miles and has good selection of eateries. Most fast food places, Ruby Tuesday's, Applebee's, and a bunch of small independents. Best in town is Liberty Station with many entrees in the $13 to $20 range; Great food. Lots of other independents; Mexican, Deli, Italian, Oriental.
The National D-Day Memorial is in Bedford, and is quite cool to visit. (Bedford VA lost more men per capita in the D-Day invasion than any other city in the US!)
BRBBR is about 5 hours from Baltimore, Harrisburg PA, Knoxville TN, and Columbia S.C.
BRBBR is about 10 hours from Jacksonville FL, Albany NY, Nashville TN
