Verizon is getting the iPhone soon and my plan is at the stage where I can get a new phone for nearly free. I MIGHT try the iPhone, but I'm not too keen on large phones. The only reason I'd consider it is because Motorola doesn't make my phone anymore...I like what I have, but that's "progress"??

I have a Samsung folding speaker phone that's quite small and is now probably 3-4 years old. It has no camera, but can text, email and a hundred other things according to the 120 page owner's manual :oh:
Why....it can even make and receive a phone call :ya2:
My wife has the same phone and uses it a lot to call me for a taxi job. Since her illness she gave up driving so I have to drop her off everywhere she wants to do.
Pay phones are getting scarce so we decided to get cell phones as she can't walk any distance searching for a pay phone.
If I make one call a month on it that's a lot. I only carry it for emergency communication - and even then half the time I forget and leave it at home.

Yesterday I linked up with about 35 other Triumph riders and did about 400km in the National Parks just north of Sydney. At one of the stops a couple of riders got out their iPhones and were checking maps. I announced that mine was much bigger and better than theirs, then unfolded a large paper map  They all cracked up laughing except the younger riders, no sense of humor when it comes to technical gizmos.

I will say that when we went to Washington DC, my Son and Daughter's phones with "walking directions" mapping saved us a LOT of time and energy.

You come up from a subway station and are disoriented when you get to street level. So just accessing the walking directions app sent us right where we wanted to go.

Same here. I think I'll watch it again.
