Bike Show, Johannesburg ZA, 8th - 11th August

The AMiD (Association of Motorcycle Importers & Distributors) Motorcycle Show will be held at the Nasrec Showgrounds, Johannesburg, from 8th to 11th August. N.B. Friday 9th August is a public holiday.

As usual there will be no Ducatis because the importer is not a member of the AMiD organisation.

But avion's favourite accessory supplier, Race! SA, will be there!

Not in the slightest, nearly ended up in court. Wanted to nail me for defamation, I was posting his antics on forums and Facebook. lol
Even got hold of the Italian factory.

We'll be in the bush - pity it's on a long weekend. Joburgers tend to get out of Dodge on long weekends. And I'm sooooo looking forward to being in the bush again.

DaveB - to a Lodge house in Marloth Park down near the Crocodile Bridge/Malelane gate to Kruger. It borders the Kruger with just the river as a boundary, no fences. A couple of weeks ago, friends were sitting under the lapa enjoying the fire and night sounds when 2 young lionesses strolled right into the property! So caution is the word. House if fully equipped but self-catering which really suits us. And unbelievably reasonable prices too.

Concours d'Elegance: Friday 9th Aug in Parking Lot 0S1B (that would be outside parking lot 1B), judging starts at 11am.

Show 'n Shine: Sat 10th Aug, same place & time. This will be for modded/customised show bikes (turbo Hyabusas with loooong swingarms etc).

It was OK. No KTM 1290 Superduke on display CRY.

I'd never seen a Husqvarna Nuda 900 before. It looked funky.


The Yamaha MT-09 looked a lot neater and tidier than it appeared in the photos I'd seen:


I tried a Speed tripe R for size:


A buddy of mine tried a V for Victory for size. Luckily I don't have a photo. But I think I organised a test ride on a Benelli triple (and why not?) for next weekend. Yeah, it was good.
