Hi guys (and gals), I'm the pround owner of a 2015 Tiger XRx and look forward to exchanging experiences and stories with you. The reason for the title "back in the saddle", I used to ride in my early days and now I've grown up a bit I figured my brain has matured to a more responsible stage it was safe to enjoy a bike again, 40 years of driving a car has made me that much more aware of how to survive on a bike.

Welcome to TT from chilly Eastern Canada.
Lots of other Tiger riders on here, I'm sure they"ll chime in with welcomes.
Great bunch here so jump in and have fun.
Enjoy your ride.

Thanks for the welcome, a sunny / cloudy 33C here in Sydney, best way to spend a Christmas!

Hello and welcome to TT from another eastern Canadian where it's also freezing - unlike Sydney this time of year.
I spent a week in Sydney in January a couple of years ago and had a wonderful time.
What a great city and we were treated royally TUP TUP

I'm pleased you enjoyed Sydeney and thanks for the welcome.

I wouldn't worry about that, we're more interested in the bike you ride, and the great pictures that will come from Oz, and that you've joined our forum.

I'll try to contribute with plenty of photos and stories. Whilst I'm based in Sydney, I keep the bike up at Lake Macquarie at a "weekender" we have there, about 1.5hrs drive door to door. The reason being that the riding up there is far superior to that of dodging mobile cannonballs that frequent Sydney roads, Lake Mac is at the lower end of the Hunter Valley which is the largest wine growing area in NSW and hence nice rolling hills, long sweeping curves as well as some really twisting roads with alpine pass style corners. I tend to go out for 2 to 3 hrs and clock up 200 to 300kms and several coffees, thankfully my neighbour is a keen rider ( good guy even though he rides a BMW) and we often have breakfast rides which run into lunch stops as well. I'll take some photos for all on my next ride to encourage all to come and enjoy Oz! The attached photo is the view from just down the street.

Walked all the way to the top of the bridge in 1999. Went up at dusk so we'd get last light and then a view in the dark.
Brilliant time indeed, and the brilliant banter ref Winging Poms. and convicts. Hope to get back there one day soon.
Look forward to the pictures

Cool. Sounds like you had a good time and yes I've walked the bridge 3 times now, quite an experience. I like your ref to winging POMs, we put s..t on anyone, even ourselves. I did originate from that grey skies damp place called England, came over in 74 and never looked back.
