Public holiday, so it's a good day to lock the bike up and celebrate my birth right at home.
The family came over and we had a couple of cold ones and incinerated some food on the barby.
Photo L to R, my two grand kids, daughter in law, son and self. The speedos were donned just after this photo was taken. I'll spare you that sight :ya2:.

After a couple of brews, and being from The Land Down Under, I became a little confused.

Yeah, actually we still are, it's 9.15 pm and I can hear fireworks going off in the next village. The family has gone home and instead of turning the aircon on, my wife and I just dunk in and out of the pool and sit about in damp swimmers. Gotta go it's time for another beer.
 :y18:

How far are you from the next village

The villages (or towns) are in a line with the Pacific Ocean to the east and a mountain range to the west. My little town has parkland either end and ocean and mountain on either side. I'd say the next town is about 1km to the edge and about 2km to the centre. I think the fireworks was in the park south of us, that's a guess as I think it was too much for a private house party, but some people do get excited and spend up. I've always celebrated Australia Day but it is being embraced with ugly outcomes by some in the cities these days. Don't go into the city if you look Middle Eastern on the 26th Jan.
Try this link, click the satellite option and you will see the mountain pushing us into the ocean.

Yeah, if you hit the "sat" option you will see that we have a mountain to the west, the plateau area is a water catchment to feed a number of dams that service Sydney, so no development is allowed. The result is that our little coastal strip, particularly our northern end is very sort after by professional people who commute to Sydney, about 1 hour drive or train. A modest house will set you back $750,000 and if it's at the waters edge the starting price is double that. That's good for me but bad for my kids. This photo looks south and if you look hard you can see my place LOL.
Do we have any other Australians on TT? It's a big responsibility for me to represent out little island all by my self.

Wow Kevin that is so stunning :y115: Unfortunately I think you are caring the burden of representing your island all by yourself. We do have Lee that pops in once in a while but we have not seen him now for some time
