I’ve stated to turn the petcock off before switching the motorcycle off. I have not run it until it stopped though. I may try that just to see how long it takes.

It’s definitely a good practice to get into. Similarly I run ethanol free gas too.

Yeah, good idear. If I'm putting Bonnie to sleep for a while, I drain the float bowls completely, along with the fuel tank. Don't want any NOOKULE reactions going on! Yes, that's supposed to be a joke.
