Took my '17 T120 in for the 500 mile service at Triumph San Antonio and one of the mechanics there is a riding buddy.
He told me about and accomplished the removal of the air intake horn from the air box under the L hand side cover then he let the ECM reset and the thing is actually stronger.
The service manager told me that the team there had ridden 2 Street Twins wherein one had the mod and one had not and the difference in performance was perceptible.
It has a teensy bit more intake throatyness above 4000 RPM with large throttle openings and seems smoother off idle and is impressive above 350O.
Don't think this is a factory tech change or anything and really don't know of the source of it.
Anybody had this done ?

All joking aside, Think they're too new to have many mods out there for them.
I believe Vance & Hines makes a performance pipe for them through Triumph so you know it's warranty sanctioned, just not sure if there is a performance advantage and if there is a ECU remap which will increase performance.

Thanks mucho for the reply.
I wonder if an ECM reflash would have any effect ?
I have a 2010 Honda VFR1200F that a Don Guhl reflash made into a new bike.
Then again the fueling on the T120 seems to be pretty sweet.

I put a set of British Customs Sleeper Pros on my 2016 T120. No need to mess with the ECM. It takes a tad off the bottom and gives some more on top. Will have to try this intake mod and see what happens.

I know this is an old thread but..... Cat eliminator pipes seem to be the cheapest way to pick up a couple ponies without hurting the power band.
My bike also gat a little more throaty......in a good way...;). TECbikeparts.com
As well as the removal of the snorkel, it is for noise compliance.

Can someone lead me to a thread of how to remove the air intake horn? Or is it so simple I should be able to figure it out?

My best performance mod so far is a larger rear sprocket!;)

There is one screw on a tab on the rear side of the tube just as its goes into the airbox. Remove that screw and the tube will pull straight out.
The screw may be obscured by your wiring connectors, mine was.

Is there any experimentation in removing the airbox completely and using individual air filters on the intakes?
perhaps fabricating some runners if needed for smoothing out the air flow,

traded my mag wheeler that the pic was shown + now looking at pods or similar for the preowned T120 i got. looking to put BAAK filters on it, anyone use these
