Hi,

I want to get some saddle bags/gear for the bike. The ones I have don't fit. The picture below shows the bike (it has a back rest). Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for something that can hold enough stuff for four days max plus rain gear. The rides will be 2 up.

Any suggestions? BTW I don't want to bust the bank for the gear….
Thanks,
:y18:

Side car? I would love one :ya2:, but the Mrs. WILL NOT GO FOR IT . Back in the days before the 1200cc modern cruisers with hard covers and fancy Givi bags people road these things from coast to coast. I'm determined to get this ole gal on the road…..

Few more pics :y18:

David,

Thank you. I was just looking at bags like those. I might have to get a second sissy bar for traveling but that will be my last resort.

Thanks again!

I use the Ventura system on my H***a CB900F and love it. I've been using Ventura for over ten years. I'm a single rider and the two bags zipped together easily hold enough for a week or more on the road with room to spare. For tours of 3-4 days one bag is plenty.
Carrying enough for two with any luggage system is pushing its limits.
On the T100 I use Tourmaster Slant II saddlebags.

Carl / Rocky,

I've checked both of your ideas. I'm in search mode right now and it wil be a while before I find the right set up.

Thanks for the suggestions. :y18:

Rocky, I did a goggle on the CB900F.... :y115:

Update:
Because I installed a Triumph sissy bar (the low one) I could not find any aftermarket luggage frames that would fit. I finally bought Triumph luggage frames (KA_CHING). I will post a pic or two after I get everything installed.
Carl,
The carbs are being worked on as I write this…… :y140:

Carl,
When I start the bike (cold start) I hear a clicking sound. Not real loud but just enough that I notice it. After the bike begins to warm up the sound goes away. Also at times when I shut off the bike it makes a small poof sound.

Air too rich or lousy technician? :ya2:

The small poof sound is probably a little backfire or "spit back" through the carburetors. Both of ours do that now and then. Without hearing the clicking, I don't have any idea. Does it sound like it is coming from the head (valves) or from the engine cases?

I have the Triumph teardrop bags on my T100 which might have enough space for an overnighter. If I wanted bags for extended travel I would get some expensive, waterproof aluminum box cases (like you see on BMWs doing world tours). Aluminum cases last forever; I have some Halliburton luggage that is 35 years old and still going strong after several million miles of air travel.

Gary thanks :y18:

I've hit tne mother load :ya2:

It takes a few seconds to load so be patient

RR, I have the Triumph soft bags. They have lasted me six years; but they are not really big enough for touring. When touring, I use them to hold the things I need to get to in a hurry - like rain gear, chain lube, Plexiglas cleaner, etc. The rest of the stuff goes in two water proof duffles. However, since I am one up that is easier for me to do.
