I use 'Chinese Chalk". You can buy this at some Spar's and most Chinese shops. It's about R10 for 3 boxes. Inside is a piece of chalk - just draw a line across/around the area the ants are coming in - door frames, threshold, window frames etc - and for whatever reason, the ants just won't cross the line. I even draw a circle around my pets food bowls to stop the ants from getting into their food - so far, my cats and dogs are fine and I don't have ants inside. I also haven't found dead ants outside. Maybe you could give this a try??
