Found the forum following various threads on the web. I've seen a few other Triumph themed forums, but this seemed to be the most 'welcoming'. I'm in the market for a T100, and very much like the 'classic retro' look. (I currently own a Yamaha SR400).
Unfortunately there are no Triumph dealers in Rhode Island, though the nearest one (in Connecticut) is only about 50 miles away.
So, until I wear the wife down and get permission to buy one, I'll continue to read the various threads. After all, knowledge is king!

Thanks

Hello and welcome to TT from up here in the northeast BBEER
This is a very welcoming and civil forum. You won't find any flame wars or bad acting here. We don't tolerate it.
Jump right in with any questions and we'll do what we can to help.
The "classic retro" look is my favorite too TUP

Hello, I’m Pushstick. A name given to me after a table saw work accident while reaching for the pushstick; lost the very tip of my left index finger. I’m a retired stagehand and have been riding for some 21 years.
I currently ride a 2016 Triumph America 865.

Welcome to TT from another Eastern Canadian.
Hope you get the bike you like.
50 miles does not seem too far away. Our nearest dealer(and only one in Atlantic Canada) is about 100 miles away from me.
Jump in, look around and have fun. It's part of what motorcycling is all about(the fun part).
Enjoy your ride.

Welcome. I'm pretty new around here myself. Hope you find the bike you are looking for before the riding season starts. A lot of us have more than one bike. You might consider keeping the Yamaha and adding a Triumph. As a tee-shirt I have says "You cannot have too many motorcycles". ...J.D.

Thank-you for the welcome! I already share a few things in common...
Pushstick - I feel your pain, I lost the end of my right thumb some 20 years ago on a table saw. For the most part I don't even realize it's gone - except when it gets cold!
'old fart' - I resemble that.
I went to the Triumph dealer (Street Stuff Cycle in Norwich CT) yesterday. Who doesn't like looking at rows of new bright shiny bikes?! It was darn tempting to sign on the dotted line - soon hopefully.

Not sure if you realize or not but the T100(2016+) is basically a T120 frame with the Street Twin 900cc engine. Still a good bike, but you get quite a bit more stuff on the T120. Bigger engine(1200cc vs 900cc), Twin front brakes, heated hand grips, 6 speed tranny vs 5. Just putting that info out there if you were not already aware.
