Did anyone see the video of our Vice President (resident drunk) Joe Biden sitting at the World Cup games behind Desmond Tutu?

He blows one of those vuvuzelas right in Tutu's ears as Tutu quickly plugs them with his fingers.

Way to go Joe!!!

PS: Which reminds me that Biden was pictured at Game 6 in Philadelphia for the Stanley Cup Finals. You'd THINK the Flyers would treat the VP to a seat in a fancy suite, but instead he was sitting with the rabble in the stands surrounded by garbage and trash!!

FIFA to rake in billions

Johannesburg – FIFA expected its provisional income for the 2010 World Cup to be around $3.2bn, a spokesperson said on Friday.

The provisional figure was given in reply to a question at a media briefing at Soccer City in Johannesburg.

Spokesperson Nicolas Maingot said the World Cup was the main source of income for FIFA and its revenue from this one would tide it over for the next four years.

He added that 75% of its revenue would be invested into football development.

Now SA is going to bid for the Olympics and it looks like Johannesburg is the city. Cape Town won't get it because of their lousy weather in winter (our winter) and lack of infrastructure. I know countries that host the Olympics never recover the cost and the citizens carry the can but if it gets the roads, public transport, CBD's etc cleaned up and WORKING, then I'll support the bid. I'd have to pay for the upgrades anyway!
