Well I have my SA and St George flag up on the windows of my car . Blowing up a storm on my vuvuzela here in the office :ya2: :ya2:

For those that don't know what a vuvuzela is :y114:

Didn,t realise you were a Gynaecologist Dave :oh:

If its like the last world cup it will be great, the roads in UK were empty except for us bikers, as everyone was indoors watching kick and kiss

There's not much coverage of ANY soccer here in the USA, but I'm surprised everyone's not talking about the one thing that did make our TV news....

The USA tying England! [*TheSeeker runs and ducks for cover]

England's Goalie was a fifth columnist from Scotland  , I do have a 20 pounds bet with 3 people that we don,t win the World Cup. Our premier League teams have such a large percentage of Foreign players that our own players don,t seem to get the experience required at top level football.

Loved the British tabloid headlines: 'THE HAND OF CLOD'. And the English back-up goalie? "Calamity James". Don't know what the English coach is thinking......................

As to those vuvuzelas I absolutely hate them. When you hear them on TV at the matches, it sounds like millions of angry bees amplified about a gazillion times. It wouldn't be so bad if they had a tune but they don't - just a bloody awful noise! I'd rather hear the traditional football songs being sung at top volume.

Germany vs Oz was sublime. The precision and team coordination of Germany was brilliant. 4-0! Germany goes top of the log for Ghana's goal was also a brilliant shot.

I thought the opening ceremony was totally under-whelming and disappointing. But the vuvuzela's have to go!

BUT........................the Springboks hammered France in the rugby - 43-17!!! Still prefer rugby. Don't like all this kick 'n kiss business.

:y114:

I am not a football fan at all.I feel that it is played by a bunch of pansies and actors.I was not looking forward to this cup at all.

BUT I can say that I have warmed to the atmosphere and have quite enjoyed watching Bafana play.
As usual SA will host a great event and all the people (mostly the POMM journalists)who said it will be a disaster will be proved wrong.

My concern is what will happen after the event when Stadiums are left to fall apart and we as taxpayers will be coughing up for the shortfalls.

I drove past the Polokwane Stadium yesterday after a great ride on the Tiger and realised that the stadium is in the middle of nowhere 4 hours from anywhere .It is a total waste .I know I am in the minority but if Germany is still trying to cover the debt from their efforts 4 years ago how will we?
I really hope I am wrong .

I am glad we killed the Frogs in rugby as they denied the Irish of a place in the World Cup due to a hand ball goal

Go Bokke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Must agree with you, it is a great concern as we have never been a place that seems to support events so I don't know how they will ever fill our one.

England's Goalie has just been offered the job as head of BP, he is used too handling slippery things and eager too please the Americans . :cash:
