Hello, again, everyone: I don't know if I did a thread on this, but I wanted to put Michelin Anakee III's on my 2012 T-100; the problem being that I wanted radials front and rear. That meant going to a 110/80/19 front and a slim possibility of hitting the fender bolts with the side of the tire.....shouldn't have worried! The 110/80/19 Anakee's fit the bike perfectly, plenty of room for the fender bolts and they don't appear to be any wider than the Metzler front, probably due to a different profile, I guess. Dealer actually thought that they were a bit narrower than the Metzler 100/90/19, oddly enough. For the short time I spent on them riding home, they really felt good; they seem to "lean" into the corners easier, with a lot less effort to make the T-100 go 'round said corner. Noise level is a bit high, but I was riding with my face shield partly open, and when I closed it, needless to say, it was much quieter; of course, my tinnitus and earplugs also contributed to a lower noise level, as well....................gotta' be some kind of a "good side" to having tinnitus, I guess!!
I'll try to remember to update this in a while: Jim

Jim,
Thanks for the review of the III's. It was good to see a review from someone other than the normal "adventure" touring crowd and how they "ARE" the tire. TUP

Now with that said. . . It sure would be nice to have a T-100 on Anakee III's review of the sugar sand handling.

A very simple review of riding in sugar sand.....................DON'T!!!!

Please don't ask the "village idiot" how he knows..........very embarrassing (and makes him live up to his name): Jim

I got the bike out for a bit of a ride the other day and have to say that the Anakees are really nice in the handling and cornering departments. I know that new tires will feel much better than the old worn ones, but the Metzelers always seemed to need a bit of effort to make them "do their job"; not so with the Anakees. They are definitely noisy, but I expected that, and, oddly, seem to be most noisy in the 55/65 mph range; above 65, they seem to get quieter as speed increases, although it could be the added wind noise but I don't think so. Anyway, that's the impressions for now.

Hi Jim,

I have just had fitted the Anakee 3 on the rear of my T100 and I agree they are noisy at 80 to around 100km per hour however it rides well and recently just did a ride up through Mt Hotham in Victoria which I rode great mountain windy roads

Good to see a second review of the Anakee lll.
I have ordered the front tyre as well however no stock so have to wait for it to come in.

I wore out my front tyre on my last trip in January riding the mountains in Victoria great windy mountain roads ohhhh so much fun!

I think you're going to like the way the bike will handle with them. My last ride was 2 days after Christmas, and having been off of it for a while, I really noticed the way that they feel in the corners, good handling all around. Jim
