Finally, the weather has become decent enough to ride bikes without freezing half to death or getting wet.
Our vintage bike club had a ride scheduled for yesterday (Saturday) and the weather co-operated with fairly mild temps that got up to the 20-21C range.
We met at one of the Tim Hortons donut shops and 19 bikes showed up.
In this pic our club president is talking with one of the lady riders in our club. She's young enough to be the granddaughter of most of us, but she's a go-getter and rides a nice little Honda in addition to her 4x4 Toyota truck.
Our club vice president showed up on his lovely Honda CB750.
Another club member showed up on a real barn find. This all original Triumph has just over 5000 miles on it and it sat for over 20 years in a dry place. It needed new tires, tubes, mufflers and fluids, but started right up.
From there we motored to the town where the Triumph dealership is and had lunch at the Spitfire Pub. It was warm enough so we could sit outside and eat in comfort when the pub owner showed up in his 1947 Lincoln Continental convertible.
Well satisfied with lunch, we retraced our steps back to the donut shop for another rest. We rode on the backroads away from all the traffic and enjoyed the slower winding roads. The temp hit 21C(70F) and it was a perfect day for a ride in full riding gear.
This is a pic of a 1970 T100S. It's mostly original (restored) but the gas tank has a parcel carrier which is not correct for 1970 - nor is the colour - but it's still a great looking bike.
The orange Honda belongs to the young lady rider I mentioned.
From the donut shop we rode back towards the city with riders splitting off for home.
When I got home I had ridden 173 miles (277 km's).
