I'm new owner of a 1998 TBS and my passenger wants a backrest support. Does anyone know if these are available from OEM?
I would also consider a very good used one--but needs to be 100% complete and no damage/road rash-etc. This bike is pristine--only has 9000 miles.
Thanks for any feedback on this.

Hi there i think you will struggle to get a new one now triumph or after market and i would think will be pretty tough to find a second hand one as well .... but just keep looking and you may get lucky !

I have a 1996 Thunderbird, uses same backrest. Good luck on finding one of these! No longer Available from Triumph, (lots of parts, unfortunately, for the triples are NLA). There is one on EBay currently, from Greece, wants $360!!!!! plus ship!! The backrests from Legend/T-Bird/Sport will interchange, 1995 -2004. There are 2 basic styles; the early ones are heavy, polished cast aluminum, look nicer, the later ones are chromed. there are 2 different bolt on racks, older ones are better looking, have 2 different mountings. I looked for 2+ years before I found one with a damaged pad, still looking for the bolt on rack. Have not found any aftermarket ones that fit. I only use it when I know I'll need it, otherwise I take it off. Bike is rather tall and though I'm 5' 10"", a little hard to get leg over without kicking the darn thing. You WILL grow to hate the seat!!

I found one in England---its not the Triumph part but almost looks identical. But now I'm not needing it...and it is for sale..$300.00 complete with the fasteners and the pad... Passenger can not bare to ride on it---so I have purchased a 2018 T120 Bonneville---which she now enjoys the ride.
I will be posting this 1998 TBS on line for sale shortly....if anyone interested...9500 miles...very clean..almost like new condition.
The only thing I must add is that it has a Rebuilt Title....bike was knocked over and sustained damage to enough items the insurance company wrote it off---new parts installed and the inspection required and title reissued as Rebuilt. I will be asking somewhere in the range of $4000.00.
