72 Triumph Daytona Part 2

Moved on from the electronics… success!!
Installed the Kickstarter spacer and spring… yes my fingers will be sore for days. Lol
Got the side cover sealed and tightened. It shifts through all the gears but it feels to me it takes 2 clicks to get there. Is that the way it’s suppose to work? Almost like there is a neutral between the gears. Does that make sense?
I want to make sure this is correct before going to part 3, the clutch side.

Are you rotating the back wheel and/or gearbox sprocket as you work the shift lever? In reality, the bike will be rolling when you make most shifts (except neutral->first and first->neutral).

Yes, rotating the wheel. Should I have put some type of grease on the shifting pawls or whatever you call them? I am just using my hand to shift with. Maybe today I’ll sit on the bike and try my foot. Would that make much difference?
It does shift thru the gears fine…

Oh I see…. 9am in Great Britain, 3 am in west Tennessee…
