Had to go to Spilsby today, and they had a 60's weekend on, took a few photos of these bikes.

Dave, this wasn't a bike event as such, but a anything to do with the 60's event, these just happened to be here.
There are 2 events coming up in the next month, one is the Boston bike night, and then there's the Barton bike night, which is rather large to say the least. Fingers crossed I'm hoping to get to both of them, but at the moment we're having an extension built, and the place looks like it's not seen a duster for years. :(.

Nice pics . Do you know what brand of engine was in the Hadley Star ?
Brooke, I've just got back from the Boston Bike Night, and that bike was there, that you asked what engine it was. It was half of a Alpha Centuri Twin. I'd never heard of them before. I'll post the rest of the pictures in another thread. I'm sure if you zoom in on the picture, you'll get more information that will be of interest to you.

Thanks Mad , that’s so cool . As an old Can Am and Skidoo racer , I worked for Bombardier at the distribution level and actually talked to Jeff Smith on the phone a couple of times , In the mid seventies an overseas call was a big deal for youngster like me . The big connection with it he Hadley is of course the rotary valve , heavily finned engine which was also a Rotax trademark and the 54 / 54 mm dimensions which were common to the Skidoo RV 245 twin and the 125 MX bike . The 125’s 24 hp was huge for that era so people were using them for Road racing and Bonneville Salt Flats record attempts.
The news paper article mentioned some other points of 2 stroke interest , 5 transfer ports were made possible by the lack of the normal intake port and the bridged exhaust port was needed to keep the rings tucked in as exhaust ports became wider on high out put engines . My Can Am 250 GP 37 hp had just one huge oval exhaust port but my earlier vintage KX 250 had a bride port with a completely different shape
Thanks for this , can’t wait for further updates
