According to Forbes Magazine, Valentino Rossi is paid an annual salary of $17 million from Ducati and receives an additional $13 million annually from his various endorsements. That makes him the 20th highest paid athlete in the world.

While on the subject of money, the Canadian national lotto jackpot of $50 million is going unclaimed even though there were six winning tickets sold in various parts of the country.
Believe me, if I had a winning ticket it wouldn't go unclaimed very long!!!!!!!!!

Without proper management that kind of money can get you into big trouble with the tax department. I just did a quick search and saw that in 2006 Italians on high incomes paid 43% tax plus local taxes that can be up to 1.2%. So the $30 million man becomes a pauper with $15 million to try to get by on. :y15:
Actually about a year ago I recall hearing a report that he was being looked at hard by the tax department.

On big money and tax, the Australian actor Paul Hogan from Crocodile Dundee fame is in the sh*t with our tax dept. I better not say any more about that just now.
