Hi there
I'm a long haul truck driver on the road right now just joined posting question about tire sizes for a newly acquired bike - will post more later but briefly...
I have been riding on road and off road since age 15 so 35+ years. Early on I had alot of Japanese bikes - sport bikes cruisers dirt bikes (all just "bikes" to me - later I had an "Adventure" bikes though all the bikes I have owned have been offroad at some point). Then I went through a phase with my dad sharing a few BMWs - R100RS Boxer, GS650 single, K100RS (flying brick) and since have had Husky and KTM dirtbikes. The past few years I have enjoyed a Suzuki 1250 Bandit (a stroked out version of I believe the first generation GSXR 1000 engine) and now a 2014 Bonneville SE 865. I am currently getting this bike on the road and thus the request for alternative tire sizes for this bike.

I also have had a potential project bike for a few years but haven't had time to devote to it yet - so I am looking forward to this project with great excitement - it is a 1973 Triumph 500 Daytona which has been sitting for a decade or so and requires an overhaul but is complete. I have restored a few bikes in the past - an early 80's CB550 and a 1978 GS650 but am new to Triumphs so this will be interesting. The big challenge is time - which is why I'm focussing on bikes I can actually ride right now...

Looking forward to exploring the forum and learning lots about these great bikes...

Cheers

Jake

Hello and welcome to TT from the east coast BBEER
Post your tire questions in the modern Bonneville section of the forum where everyone will see it, and you should get some answers.

Thanks for the welcomes! (Is that a word?)
Yesterday I spent the day putting new tires on the Bonnie and looking it over. This bike was my dad's bike so I had to remove bar risers and adjusted the bars, replaced the stock seat (he had a replacement that looks like a cafe racer style seat) - only a little more uncomfortable than stock - and after the work we went for a little ride. Fun little bike - I do think I will look into doing the decat - maybe replacing the exhaust system in the future - otherwise it is a great little bike to ride!

Cheers
Jake
