2015 Scrambler Fluid Line

I've generally only purchased new(er) bikes with warranties, but I just got a 2015 Scrambler 900. I noticed this line coming from the right side of the bike has a hole in it. Can anyone tell me if this is serious or can I wrap electrical tape around it?

What is the blue stuff? Is the case cracked? On the hose, I would replace it. I doubt tape is a good long term solution. Would be good to get a better overall picture what it is and where.

It's liquid gasket for the transfer case.

Bad picture... it's liquid gasket. the guy I bought it off had the valves checked.

It's coming out of the side of the transfer case.

It looks like some type of engine breather hose. Not that familiar with your model but you could see if a parts diagram gives any specifics.

You might be able to find which hose it is by looking here. I’m not sure what it connects to. It’s a bit different model than my air cooled Thruxton.

Looks like a crankcase breather. It should be fine as is, unless you want a cosmetic fix.

You could likely use silicone very carefully spread over the hole (hole in the tube) and it should at least hold it for awhile.

If it's a breather don't cover it. Is it oily inside? Use a Q-tip and run it down the hose. If it comes out with some oil on it, it's the crankcase breather to airbox connection. If the airbox was removed a filter should have been installed on the breather line to ensure dust and dirt don't enter the crankcase and that crankcase vapor pressure is vented to atmosphere. If it comes out clean then it's likely something like an AIS hose.

I meant repair the hole in the tube. It has a huge chunk of it in the picture.

See the dark spot. I’m thinking temporarily repair until the hose is replaced.

Gotcha, I'm looking the wrong way on that photo (orientation is meaningful), change my anser to read: REPLACE THE (Flippin') HOSE.

That would be the best solution. I was thinking of a temp fix until the new one comes. I hate holes.

If you can put shrink wrap over that part of the hose, that would make a pretty good temporary solution.

This might work if one end can be disconnected without it falling apart.
