I am inheriting Ilse's CBR 1000RR. I've never been a fan of sport bikes. The riding position is uncomfortable. I have ridden this one for short distances just to keep it going. It does handle well it's definitely a crotch rocket.

Ilse kept it on a battery charger and cranked it up every letting it run until the fan kicked in. Today I added injector cleaner and filled the tank with non ethanol marine gasoline.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. I have no need for it

I’d have a tough time parting with it for sentimental reasons if I was in your position. Your call though. Me I’d take short rides in it and remember her. I’m a sentimental type.
I have to confess I'm torn. If it were her Honda Hornet, which was her main ride and the one she rode most of.time, I wouldn't even condider selling it. I never saw her ride this one. She used it locally; but she rode her Hornet for distance riding.

Well it’ll still be a tough call, would be for me. It’ll never replace her loss, but like I said I’m the sentimental type. LoL. It is a lovely bike for the type.

I'm really impressed that she rode a bike like the CBR.
Where is the Honda Hornet you mentioned?
She never ceased to amaze me at what she could do. She got run off of the road during an MSTA ride by an errant cager and hit a culvert. It tore the whole front end off of the bike totalling it. She had a little over 200,000 miles on that bike! She never had to go into the engine.

I'm quite certain the model you call Hornet is the exact model we have in Canada called a CB900F and I have one.
Fantastic bike - and she was a fantastic lady TUP TUP
Consider yourself super lucky to have had her in your life.

The reason I asked about the Hornet is because most of your memories of her are with that bike rather than the CBR.
Your heart really isn't with that bike, but I fully understand the sentimental value of it and how tough it is to let go of what is really a piece of her life.
I can't advise you, but I think in the end your heart will tell you what to do rather than just let it sit.

You are correct, it is the same bike as you have. And it is a great bike. If it were still around, you can bet I would keep it and ride it. You are also correct; my heart is not in a sport bike. I never saw her ride it. I will not let it sit and deteriorate. I am going to take it for a couple of rides then find a good home for it. It will be tough to let it go as it is with so much I'm getting rid of. But you know how that is.
