1991 Trophy Headlight bulb replacement

Got my new to me 1991 Trophy 2 weeks ago with little over 30000 Miles on the clock been out at night recently only to discover how crap the headlight is, Any body got any good ideas on upgrades or how to improve the light, thinking of fitting a couple of small 55watt driving lamps b unsure if the old girl could cope with the extra drain on the alternator etc all comments welcome

Yeah....this is a known problem with the 1st generation Trophy's. Even the later models with dual headlamps didn't improve it much.

Driving lamps is one solution ( it can handle it...only they will dim when idling).

You could also try replacing the stock bulb with a powerful PIAA halogen bulb (which helps a little bit).
