1969 Triumph TR6C 650cc Trophy Engine
Dave: "This Triumph Bobber is an extremely trustworthy motorcycle. Once you learn the starting sequence it will kick off on the first or second kick.
The TR6C 650cc engine was completely rebuilt from the sludge trap up with .20 over cylinders, new pistons, rings, valves, seals, bearings, gaskets, etc. New clutch hub and plates. Aluminum engine covers are polished.
Clutch and brake levers as well as throttle and grips are original NOS Doherty.
A polished aluminum crankcase engine breather oil collector is used to capture and vent crankcase oil mist."
Dave: "Exhaust is UK made 1-3/4" long drag style with Cycle Shack 10" baffles and Bitwell Silver Hollow Point exhaust tips. Polished stainless steel rose clamps are used at the head. Baffles can be easily removed if you want it loud."
Dave: "Carburetor is an correct Amal 930 concentric with a 230 main jet and 106 needle jet. The original style air filter box was used. Ignition is Boyer Bransden using dual 6 volt coils."
Dave: "This Triumph Bobber motorcycle has a Monstercraftsman chain tensioner attached to the left rear hard tail section. When ridden normally, it takes vibration out of the ride. If the bike is ridden hard the chain will sometimes bottoms out on the tensioner. This can be heard but doesn't hurt anything. This part is attached to the frame with two nuts/bolts and can be easily removed."
1969 Triumph Trophy Bobber Front End
Dave: "The front end is a custom built Bultaco/Betor with 35mm tubes and 53mm lower sliders. Sliders are powdercoated wrinkle black. The triple trees and risers are also powdercoated and taper roller bearings connect the front end to the neck. This front end was selected because of its clean and unobstructed appearance."
Dave: "New chrome rims, stainless steel spokes, inner tubes, rim strips and new Avon Speedmaster tires are used. Tires/wheels were balanced to perfection by local HD shop. New rear brake hub and new brake shoes and springs were used on front and rear. Front brake hub plate is a polished 7 inch twin leading style. Wheels are 19" front, and 18" rear."
Triumph Fuel Tank
Dave: "Gas tank is an amazing condition near perfect Triumph Slimline with new petcocks, filters, and gas cap. Take was lined with POR 15. The original tank badges have been re-chromed."
1969 Triumph Bobber Bolt On Hardtail
Dave's 1969 Triumph Trophy Bobber has a bolt on hardtail attached to the original Triumph frame.
Dave: "Chain is a new 530 Cycle Craft with 115 links. Chain has been coated with Bel Ray chain lube and that gives it a white appearance. Front engine sprocket is 20 tooth, rear wheel sprocket is 46 tooth for terrific ride and pull.
Break rod is polished stainless steel with chrome assembly."
The bolt-on hardtail looks very clean. Note the Bitwell Silver Hollow Point exhaust tip.
Dave: "Rear fender is a Wassell "Made in England" 4.5 steel ribbed duck bill."
That's it, a Bobber's tale...
