This is embarrassing... The Indian is 1 I have never seen. I know that Enfield made an Indian, and the Basket case I once tried to buy YEARS ago Had That same "font" if you will. So I have to ask. Is This an Enfirld Indian? or the US made Indian Indain? Sorry for my ignorance on the matter. Very cool regardless.

OOPS haven't seen the note from Triumph Tom - anyway the bike is an American Indian, sort of - uses a Velocette engine and gearbox in an Italian frame and running gear (Italjet I believe). It was commissioned by Floyd Clymer (of the Clymer manuals) as he owned the rights to the Indian name at the time and tried several times to revive the marque. Velocette sold him 250 engine gearbox units, but Floyd Clymer died before all the bikes were made and many were returned o England. This bike is in the first couple made and is essentially a pre production bike hand made, it varies in a number of areas from the production bikes, motor is more upright, exhaust is at a different angle, electrics are not to production standard, chainguard is hand made item.
