Just got back from this event. I've been going to this event for a few years now, and I've never ever seen so many bikes there, as there were tonight. There must have been 1000+ bikes there. The weather was fantastic too. I did a video which I hope you can see. Best put the headphones on the hear them 4 Merlin's in all their glory.

Look at that lovely 1995 Thunderbird. Bottom left of the picture, best bike I've ever had.

Just found out that there was 2166 bikes there, £5.00 to get in ( Normally £11.00 ) so that's £10,830 raised, and that's just the bikes. Some people turned up in cars, don't know how much they were charged. Plus the burger stands, and other stalls. They must have had a few bob extra to spend on refurbishment today, as a result of last night.

The Mosquito is not operational, and sadly never will be. This is because the wood for some reason can't be X rayed to test the strength of the structure. I think there is a guy somewhere ( The country escapes me ) that is building a Mosquito from scratch, using original plans that have turned up in a draw recently. Such a shame that lots of these planes weren't put into storage for future generations to enjoy. But I guess we needed the money to rebuild the country. ( Don't all laugh at once )

Some of you may not know that this Lancaster is in the process of becoming airworthy, at this moment in time its not got a licence to fly. Having said that a few years ago, one of the pilots did give it a bit too much welly, and by all accounts it did lift off, albeit very briefly. They're rumers that the large plot of land next to the Aviation Centre has been purchased by the centre. Only time will tell, if Just Jane will become air worthy again. I hope so.
