Has anybody tried out that new TEC cam that's made for the Triumph Bobber yet? They say that it's supposed to give you 30% more horsepower and was supposedly designed by George, for the bobber. I read in an article, that George wanted to put that cam in the bobber, instead of the cam that it comes with. But, Triumph said no for some reason. I was thinking about buying one, after my warranty runs out and having my local Triumph dealer install it for me. Any thoughts about this new cam?
Thanks Snakesfield

30% is a hugh bump in power for just a cam swap. Is that even possible?
Have you seen their dyno charts proving this. I would question that, but that's just me

I was thinking the same thing. It sounds too good to be true from just a cam change with everything else stock and running on pump gas.
I don't see how that's possible, but I've been wrong before.

That's why I want to have my Triumph dealer and Triumph repair shop, to install the TEC cam for me, on my 2018 Bobber 1200 cc. But, only, after my warranty runs out. Then, I'll buy the cam and have it installed by my Triumph dealer and have them dial the bike in for me. That way, I know that it'll be done right. Plus, my days of working on motorcycles and cars are over. I just can't do the work on them anymore, like I used to be able to do. Due to injuries from my past and present. Now days, I just take it into the shop and have them due all the work for me. But I really like that TEC cam shaft a lot. So I'm going to give it a try, just as soon as my warranty runs out. After I have it done, I'll give my own review. But first, I should say that I'm more into freeway cruising, than I am riding in the mountains, doing the fast turns and so on. Although, I did break my bike in riding in the hills, going to and from Yosemite national park in California. But, I also broke it in nice and easy too. But, I prefer freeway cruising and touring, more so, than I like flying through the tight corners and so on in the hills. I getting too old for that kind of fun stuff. These days, I don't want to hurt myself anymore. Like I have in the past. Although, I really enjoy riding to the Pinnacles National Park, in Hollister, Ca. All the nice slow turns and straight aways, is really a great ride. Plus, I really enjoy camping out there also.

I agree, but it seems to me that the cost of all those engine mods (parts and labour) would be better spent on the 1200 T120.
To each his own.
My Bobber is 1200cc, but I just want to get a little more top end out of her for freeway cruising. I also plan on getting some crash bars also. I really like this bike a lot and I don't want anything to happen to it. I keep it garaged and covered even though I really don't need to, but I do anyway. Because, I really love this bike a lot and I paid a hefty price for it too. But at the same time, it's worth every penny that I paid for it also. At the time I bought my Triumph Bobber. I also tried out the Indian Scout Bobber and the HD Bobber. But, the Triumph won hands down, for what I was looking for in a motorcycle. So, I really want to protect it at all cost.

This is a nice civil forum community and it pleases me to hear you say that. We don't put up with any flaming or crap like that and you will never be insulted or disrespected in any way here.
You're becoming like an old friend in a short time and it's a pleasure interacting with you TUP TUP

There are no better reviews than those given by an actual owner so I will be looking out for your one.
Very true and I agree 100%. I'm not going to do any of those engine mods though, until my warranty runs out first. Then I'll do the mods to the cam shaft. I don't even think that you can buy one of those cams right now, in the USA, as of yet? But, the reviews that I've read on some of the other Triumph sites. About the TEC cam shaft, are really great and it supposedly does away with that slight loss of power from shifting between, second to third, to fourth gear that you get. You may not notice it, but I do. It's very slight, but it's there. The TEC cam, that I've read about, they already have and sell it in England. What I've read, is that people are very impressed with the power and the shifting from second to third gear, and from third to forth gear. I don't know if it's true or not? The info seemed pretty reliable and makes for some really interesting reading. There's also some dyno paper work, to back it up too. All that I can really say about the TEC cam shaft, is to just check it out for your selves. There's a lot of info about the TEC cam shaft on that Triumph Rat site. Again, the article makes for some pretty interesting reading. Then on YouTube there's are several articles about the cam also, on the 2016 Scramblers 900s and the T120 or T100 1200s. But, before I do anything to my engine? I'm going to wait until my warranty runs out first.
Right now, I have more important things to buy first. Like buying and having some engine crash bars installed, some forward controls installed, higher more comfortable handle bars installed and I need to buy some weatherproof saddle bags. I'm a tall guy, at 6ft4, but I only weigh 172 pounds too. Still though, my first priority before that cam shaft, is the other stuff first. Then the cam shaft will come in a few years. Just not right now. By the way, I did find one from Triumph. But, they want 750.00 bucks, for just the cam shaft alone. That does not include the gaskets, shims or other things that go into it. Thats why I'm waiting until my warranty runs out, before I have my Triumph dealer buy it and install it for me. I'm doing this because, I like to cruse long distances and I didn't want another HD. I almost bought the Indian Scout Bobber. But, I really liked the ride on the Triumph so much better. The Triumph also had all the bells and whistles, that I wanted in a motorcycle too. Also, the Triumph Bobber was rated really high on all the reviews, that I read. Before I decided to buy the bike. If I had the money, I really liked that 2018 Triumph Rocket 3 a lot too. But, there was just no way, that I could afford that bad boy.
