Anyone changed handlebars on a StreetTwin? Any problems? Looks like it'll need a longer clutch cable..OK.....but what about the electrical wiring. Thoughts?
Yes, and a bit more height.Just curious, are you looking for a bit more sweep or...? I'm interested in hearing if anyone has swapped theirs out, too --
I’d probably be happy with rotational bar risers. Before I could install those I think a longer clutch cable, a longer front brake line and all wiring would need to be lengthened. cables and brake lines are easily acquired/made but I’m wondering about longer wiring. Wonder if someone makes plug-in jumpers? Anyone anyone?most require clutch and brake cable upgrade, which keeps me from switching for now. I would like a more track inspired bar with more sweep.
Don't know from experience, but none of the after market bars I looked at require longer wiring. unless your looking at ape hangarsI’d probably be happy with rotational bar risers. So just when you think things got easer they spring that little suprised on you.
Hey, Hotshoe, I'm late again to the party, but you might post your query over on the Dark Side, i.e., the other forum site.
I did a quick search on the Water-cooled Twins forum there using 'handlebars' and there's a lot of stuff. One in particular is from a guy looking to raise his handlebars. So at least there's a starting point for you.
HTH!

I successfully raised my handlebars 2 inches. It didn’t cost me several hundred dollars like some have paid. All I had to buy is two Custom made risers that go between the stock handle bar clamps and the top triple clamp and 2 longer 10 mm bolts. my machinist charged me $40. The only hard part of the job is rerouting the hard brake line and bleeding the front brake. The return brake line terminates on the left side of the backbone near the steering head. That brake line needs to be rerouted to the right side. I rerouted the stock clutch cable. It’s a little tight but works fine. I have a cable on order for a street scrambler. I’ll switch them when that comes in. It is however working fine and I am pleased.View attachment 42573View attachment 42574View attachment 42575Wow, that sounds good.
